Week Three (1/17-1/21)

Tuesday If we are in class, then we will watch a documentary on Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery (a.k.a. the Lousiana Purchase Expeditions). If we are not in class, then you will take your notes/listen to the lecture for Adams and Jefferson and then have time to work on your annotations. The documentary would then we be moved to Weds. (if we are out on Weds. then we might not view the documentary)
Cherokee Removal Case The Cherokee Removal case focuses on Worchester v. Georgia, the Indian Removal Act, and the Cherokee Tribe specifically. This instance in history if one of those times where the checks and balances between branches was not fully implemented in our history. We had the Supreme Court who ruled one thing and the President of the United States (Jackson) who did the opposite of what was decided.
Unit One We have covered and will cover a lot in Unit One. Please make sure you are a) keeping up with your notes and b) reviewing your notes. We are covering information at a faster pace with the new standards. Next week we will finish Unit One and assess.
