Welcome!
Greetings We will be covering the history of the United States in this course from our initial foundations - present day. You may use graphic organizers or your own method of note taking. We will begin notes on Friday and our first inquiry for the county is on Thursday.
Case Method As you may recall, we did two cases during Civics last year. We will be doing a few cases this semester as well. You will have time in class and we are doing a more segmented version (read, discuss/write, read, discuss/write) concept. This will hopefully make the Case Method more enjoyable and allow for small and full class discussions. These will be graded based on participation at the tables as well (so we won't be doing the notes in the front of the room and your grade be based on that one whole class discussion)
One More Change In years past, you may recall the binder quiz was at the end of the semester and the first day of review for final exams. This semester they will occur sporadically at the end of units or beginning of the next unit for the previous unit instead. Please make sure you have your notes with you each day so that you are ready when these come to pass. They will be a series instead of one huge one at the end of the semester.
